Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise groups of children during daily camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational, educational, and creative activities tailored to different age groups
- Support campers in developing social skills, teamwork, and confidence through positive interactions and encouragement
- Assist with daily camp routines such as meal times, rest periods, and transitions between activities
- Maintain a vigilant watch for safety hazards or behavioral issues, intervening appropriately to uphold a secure environment
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns (within scope of camp policies)
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to create an inclusive and welcoming camp atmosphere that promotes fun and learning
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings, tutoring, teaching, or childcare roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices for engaging young learners
- Demonstrated ability to lead activities that promote developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children and foster positive relationships
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a lively outdoor or indoor setting with energy and enthusiasm
