Norstar Industries Ltd. is a family-owned manufacturer located just outside Rosenort, Manitoba. We manufacture innovative grain handling equipment, industrial conveyance systems, U-Drain™ floor drainage systems, and Haul-All Trailers that serve customers across North America.
We're looking for a skilled Welder to join our growing Trailer Shop team. If you take pride in producing quality work, enjoy working in a collaborative manufacturing environment, and value safety and craftsmanship, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Welder, you'll manufacture and weld quality components while helping maintain the high standards Norstar is known for.
Your responsibilities include:

Set up and perform MIG (GMAW) welding operations

Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications

Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet Norstar standards

Update production progress using ShopTrak

Grind and finish welds to produce quality workmanship

Move materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or by hand when required

Maintain welding equipment and keep your work area clean and organized

Report quality concerns and production issues promptly

Participate in cross-training and team meetings

Follow all company safety policies and quality standards at all times

Experience with MIG welding preferred

Manufacturing or fabrication experience is an asset

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Ability to set up welding equipment and adjust temperature and wire speed

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Comfortable performing repetitive production welding while maintaining consistency

Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Welding helmet and steel-toe safety boots required

Willingness to work overtime when needed
Within your first 6 to 12 months, you will:

Consistently produce welds that meet Norstar's quality standards with minimal rework.

Read and interpret blueprints confidently and accurately.

Maintain a safe, organized workstation while following all safety procedures.

Meet production expectations without compromising quality.

Contribute positively to the team by communicating effectively and supporting continuous improvement.

Competitive hourly wage of $25.00-$29.00, based on experience
