Job Summary:
Reporting to the QA Manager, the Sanitation Technician is responsible for sanitation monitoring, as well as implementing and maintaining the Sanitation Management Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and improvement of a master equipment sanitation program and procedures
- Uses appropriate sterilization techniques to make equipment food contact ready
- Is responsible to maintain all outlined frequencies for sanitation program requirements
- Able to properly follow, record, and sign off master on sanitation schedule and food safety inspections
- Works with QA Manager and HACCP Coordinator to make adjustments and provide solutions to deviations from standards to eliminate recurring deficiencies in any of the sanitation procedures
- Must use hands, arms, shoulder, and back to perform jobs.
- Cleaning of machinery, soaping, foaming, scrubbing, and using high pressure hoses
- Reporting Nearmisses/ incident
- Completing all the monitoring records related with sanitation/ cleaning
- Reporting any risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to management (direct report = QA Manager)
Qualifications:
1-2 years of sanitation experience would be considered an asset
Experience in a food/beverage manufacturing environment considered an asset
