Position Summary
The Journeyperson Electrician is responsible for providing safe, professional, and customer-focused electrical service to residential customers, builders, and contractors throughout Calgary and the surrounding area. This role primarily involves the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of lighting fixtures and ceiling fans in customer-occupied homes and job sites.
The successful candidate is a Journeyperson who combines technical electrical knowledge with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service. While the role utilizes a focused portion of the electrical trade, it requires independent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to represent the company professionally in customers’ homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to residential and builder job sites throughout Calgary and surrounding areas to perform service calls and installations.
- Install, repair, and maintain lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, and related electrical components.
- Troubleshoot fixture and installation issues, identify solutions, and complete work safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable electrical codes, company standards, and safety requirements.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, contractors, and internal support staff regarding work performed, timelines, and any issues identified.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment while working in customer-occupied homes.
- Accurately document service work, materials used, and any follow-up actions required.
- Operate hand tools, ladders, and scaffolding safely and effectively.
Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrician Certificate or Red Seal Electrician certification.
- Experience with residential electrical work, including lighting installation, ceiling fan installation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage service calls, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Professional appearance and ability to work respectfully in occupied homes.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders or scaffolding as required.

Pay: $35.00-$37.00 per hour
