Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Demolition Worker to join our construction team. This role involves performing demolition tasks on various types of structures, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and assisting with site cleanup and preparation for new construction. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of construction-related skills, including blueprint reading, operation of heavy equipment, and use of hand and power tools. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, physical endurance, and a strong understanding of construction processes.
Responsibilities
- Safely demolish structures using appropriate methods and tools, including hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine demolition scope and procedures.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and cranes in accordance with safety standards.
- Assist with site cleanup, debris removal, and preparation for subsequent construction activities.
- Perform concrete breaking, masonry removal, and other related tasks during demolition projects.
- Support restoration activities including concrete finishing, masonry repairs, or carpentry as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely completion of demolition phases.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics related to demolition projects.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and construction machinery.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent attention to safety procedures and protocols related to demolition activities.
