This role is a combination of shop based work and on-site installations. It's a fast-paced, physically active role.
As a Sanding & Preparation Technician at Grinyer Interior Doors & Closets, you'll play an important part in creating the high-quality finish our customers love. Working in a clean, modern production environment, you'll prepare doors for painting by inspecting, repairing, sanding, and ensuring every surface meets our quality standards.
You’ll work with a supportive production team, helping to organize, handle, and package doors while maintaining a safe, efficient workspace. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, pays attention to detail, and enjoys hands-on, physical work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Shop Duties
- Sand, prep, and finish doors and components to quality standards
- Assist with painting prep, masking, and material staging
- Load and unload materials with proper care and organization
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
- Support the production team with general labour tasks as required
- Assist with packaging and staging completed orders for installation
Installation Support
- Assist installers on-site with door and closet system installations
- Transport tools and materials to and from job sites
- Support removal and disposal of existing materials
- Maintain cleanliness and professionalism in customer homes
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly handled and accounted for

Requirements
- Previous experience in construction, woodworking, or general labour preferred
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail, especially in sanding and finishing work
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (doors, track systems, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license considered an asset
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
