On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an eDiscovery Law Clerk for a 3-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 1 day onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
eDiscovery Law Clerk - Job Description:
As a member of the Legal e-Discovery Team, the eDiscovery Law Clerk will manage the bank’s enterprise-wide e-Discovery portfolio by overseeing the full lifecycle of discovery activities related to litigation and regulatory matters. The role involves maintaining a centralized master list of legal matters, issuing legal hold notices, and ensuring the preservation of relevant records.
eDiscovery Law Clerk - Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple, simultaneous cases from initiation through to completion using advanced technology
- Work closely with litigators to determine parameters of discovery work
- Draft and issue legal hold notices and monitor custodian responses
- Conduct and document custodian data source interviews
- Instruct technicians on database setup in e-Discovery review platforms and train legal counsel on technology
- Maintain supporting documentation and chain of custody logs
- Analyze and respond to e-Discovery requests with the legal team
- Plan and implement review processes with litigators
- Monitor and report on case review status
- Coordinate the lifting of legal holds and associated closing processes
- Provide technical guidance and support to lawyers on eDiscovery matters
- Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and LOB contacts
eDiscovery Law Clerk - Mandatory Skills:
- At least 1-3 years of experience in the legal industry
- Proficient and comfortable with new technology
- Understands laws/legislation relevant to the practice area
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
eDiscovery Law Clerk – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- FI experience
- Fast-paced/high volume experience in a legal environment
- eDiscovery experience
- Relativity experience
eDiscovery Law Clerk – Assignment Length:
This is a 3-month contract position.
