Job Overview
To safely operate and perform routine maintenance and inspections and on various equipment, mainly loaders but also telehandlers, skid steers, track hoes, dozers etc. The role reports directly to VP Production but must communicate with other staff. This is a seasonal position operating from March to November. Additional work opportunities for the remaining months will be provided given availability and qualifications.
Role and responsibilities
· Operate frac sand wash plant equipment, including screed decks, wash decks, cyclones, water filtrations systems, pumps, paste tanks and other various mining equipment.
· Upon completion of required training, safely and responsibly operate a range of heavy equipment including loaders, man lift, skid steer, track hoe, dozer, zoom boom, picker truck, etc.
· Inspect and ensure the equipment is in proper working condition and that all systems are working correctly according to company policies and procedures
· Communicate with other workers through hand or audio signals while equipment is in operation
· Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment such as checking oil, fluid levels, tires, etc.
· Be willing to complete training, and become competent, in a variety of workplace tools, equipment and machinery
· Ensure you are doing work that you are qualified to do – if unsure, ask the Lead Hand
· Work efficiently and consistently – stay organized
· Fully support and participate in all company safety policies and procedures
· Attend all required safety meetings
· Keep work area well organized and tidy
· Clean up after yourself
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
· Valid tickets / training for all equipment prior to operating – additional training can be provided as needed
· Extensive experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
· Knowledge of materials handling equipment and procedures
· Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance
· Knowledge of hand and audio signals needed to communicate with other workers while equipment is in operation
· Ongoing training and education as required to safely operate workplace tools, equipment and machinery
· Good communication skills, including listening, speaking, reading and writing
· Knowledge of applied mathematics (i.e. fractions, measuring, geometry)
· Working knowledge of basic tools and shop equipment
· Competent with basic use of computers and windows-based systems

Plant Operations Details
· Plant operates 24hrs/day, 7 days a week during the operating season (March to November).

· Shift rate + salary (salary will run through winter months even if employee is not working)
