Overview
We are pleased to announce that we are seeking applicants to join our Meter/Maintenance team in the role of Meter Technician. This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as required.
This role involves maintaining and updating parking meter software and hardware, performing cash collections, and completing general pay station and parking lot maintenance. Strong technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on Parkade and parking meter equipment
- Install parking meters and related components
- Test, disassemble, repair, and adjust parking equipment as required
- Troubleshoot communication and equipment errors
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled cash pickups
- Conduct general pay station and parking lot maintenance
- Operate company vehicles in a safe, professional, and courteous manner
- Assist with maintenance and janitorial tasks as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
- IT experience and strong computer literacy
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using various hand tools
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues without assistance
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to keep an updated task list and track outstanding work
- Efficient decision-making skills that support productivity
- Proficiency with Outlook and calendar management
- Ability to follow schedules and operating procedures set by management
- Punctual and reliable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Successful Candidate Profile
- Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be comfortable working Downtown amongst the unhoused population
- Be able to work weekends and overtime as required
- Perform well under pressure
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract and criminal record check (required upon interview selection)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.50-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
