Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Sales to lead our hotel sales division and drive business growth across diverse markets. This leadership role requires a proven track record of B2B/B2C sales, business development, and account management, with a strong emphasis on building long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analysis skills, negotiation expertise, and a deep understanding of hospitality sales and marketing strategies. As a key member of our executive team, the Director of Sales will shape our sales initiatives, foster team development, and ensure the achievement of revenue targets through innovative sales approaches and leadership excellence.
Financial Returns
· Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, marketing plan, sales business plan, and financial plans.
· Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales.
· Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.
People Management
· Manage day-to-day sales activities, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance and recognize good performance.
· Educate and train sales team that is responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts and implementing sales strategies. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
· Work with other department managers to ensure proper staffing levels based on guest volume.
Guest Experience
· Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programs, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.
· Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales and catering/banquet services.
· Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
Responsible Business
As a department leader of the hotel, you will identify operational challenges that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall sales performance while working with appropriate department heads to implement solutions.Additionally, you will develop the awareness and reputation of the hotel, as well as the brand, within our local community. Lastly, we expect that you will perform any additional job duties as assigned by the hotel General Manager.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum 5 years of hospitality sales experience; minimum of 3 years management experience.
· Excellent leadership abilities and strong revenue management skills.
· Must be able to work independently and have the drive to succeed.
· Knowledge of local market competition and general industry trends.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Must speak fluent English; additional languages are an asset.
· Excellent decision-making ability and analytical skills.
· Knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Office.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
· Commitment to maintaining a high level of professional appearance and personal deportment.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and use of a reliable vehicle which is insured and maintained in good condition.
· Valid passport and ability to travel for business within North America.

Pay: $55,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
