Building Superintendent
Kitchener & Cambridge, Ontario
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Live-In Building Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of residential apartment buildings in Kitchener and Cambridge, Ontario.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, customer-focused individual or couple who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and well-managed properties.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs
- Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks
- Clean and maintain common areas, laundry rooms, hallways, and exterior entrances
- Conduct regular property inspections and report maintenance issues
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers as required
- Maintain the grounds, including minor landscaping, weeding, litter pickup, and seasonal upkeep
- Assist with garbage and recycling management
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner
- Help ensure the property complies with health and safety standards
- Support leasing activities, including showing apartments and preparing units for new tenants (an asset)
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a building superintendent, maintenance technician, or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong handyman skills with the ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and carpentry repairs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are considered assets
