BMI Building & Maintenance Industries is a growing Ottawa-based company specializing in commercial construction, renovations, maintenance, and janitorial services for condo corporations, commercial buildings, medical facilities, and institutional clients.
We are currently looking for a motivated and outgoing Junior Business Development & Marketing Coordinator to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level candidate looking to gain real-world experience in business development, marketing, client relations, and commercial property services.
Position Overview
This is a hybrid role combining business development, client outreach, social media marketing, and general brand support.
The successful candidate will assist with expanding BMI’s presence within the Ottawa market by visiting buildings and job sites, helping generate new business opportunities, supporting online marketing efforts, and building relationships with property managers and industry contacts.
This is not strictly a desk-based marketing position. The role involves both office and field work.
Responsibilities
- Visit condo buildings, commercial properties, and active construction sites
- Introduce BMI services to property managers, supers, and site personnel
- Assist with vendor list and tender list registrations
- Conduct outreach and follow-up with potential clients
- Capture photos and videos of completed and active projects
- Assist with LinkedIn posts and company social media updates
- Support website updates and marketing initiatives
- Research new business opportunities within Ottawa and surrounding areas
- Maintain lead and contact tracking
- Assist management with general business development activities
Qualifications
- Recent graduate in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, confident, and comfortable speaking with clients
- Organized and self-motivated
- Comfortable working independently and visiting sites
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and online marketing
- Experience with WordPress, LinkedIn, Canva, or similar platforms is an asset
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
