Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and experience in engine repair. The role involves heavy lifting and utilizing hand tools to perform maintenance and repairs on various equipment such as utvs/atvs, skid steers, trailers, and more.
Duties:
- Perform diagnostic tests on machinery and trailers
- Conduct repairs on engines, transmission systems, and hydraulic components
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate records of services performed
- Comfortable towing trailers and moving equipment in the shop yard
- Maintain fleet records
- Clean and maintain shop
- Other mechanic and shop duties as required (may include tidying shop, landscaping, organizing shop)
Requirements:
- Heavy Duty Mechanic certification preferred (Automotive Service Technician certification will considered)
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repairs
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable towing trailers and moving equipment in the shop yard
- Able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
- Problem Solving Skills
- Able to work independently
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Class 5 driver’s license required
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Acheson, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Driver's License (required)
