Are you a quick learner, flexible and love caring for people? Nnenia Extended Care Services is seeking part-time Client Support Workers. The Client Support Worker provides personal care as documented on a client’s care plan; is responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living and other tasks that enable the individual to remain as independent as possible; provides supportive services, such as assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, personal hygiene, toileting, assistance with physical transfer and other responsibilities as required; and continuously monitors the client’s condition and report any unusual occurrences to Executive Director. We also support clients in their home and in the community, allowing them to engage in recreational activities.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills
- Personal Support Worker certificate an asset;
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in health, social care or vulnerable sector an asset;
- Experience in the facilitation and or/ coordination of programs and services for people with developmental disabilities, or mental illness;
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse clients with varying levels of comprehension and language capabilities
- Excellent assessment and intervention skills required
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Exceptional ability to communication effectively, both orally and written
- Computer literacy is required.
- Successful police record check – vulnerable sector check (as requested)
- Standard First Aid and CPR certificate or willing to obtain;
- Ability to travel within the community with clients; may be required to travel out of town (as requested)
