Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will support food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and assist with basic meal and food handling tasks. Previous restaurant or food service experience is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated individuals eager to learn about the food industry and kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks under supervision
- Support kitchen staff with food prep activities such as chopping, assembling ingredients, or portioning
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and work areas in compliance with health and safety standards
- Help with trash removal and recycling duties to keep the kitchen sanitary
- Ensure proper storage of food items following safety guidelines
- Support serving staff during busy periods by providing clean dishes and assisting with light duties as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of cooking, meal preparation, and kitchen operations is advantageous
- Strong teamwork skills and good communication abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds when necessary
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
