Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Waterproofing Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will perform waterproofing installations and repairs on commercial and residential high-rise buildings, parking garages, balconies, podium decks, and other concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Install various waterproofing systems including sheet membranes, liquid-applied membranes, and traffic coatings
- Prepare concrete surfaces through grinding, scarifying, pressure washing, and other surface preparation methods
- Apply primers, sealants, coatings, and waterproofing membranes according to manufacturer specifications
- Install expansion joints, flashing systems, drainage mats, and protection boards
- Perform crack injection, joint sealing, and leak repairs
- Remove deteriorated waterproofing materials and prepare substrates for new installations
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret project drawings and specifications
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and Ontario construction regulations
- Work closely with supervisors and other trades to complete projects on schedule
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of commercial waterproofing experience
- Experience with sheet membrane and liquid-applied waterproofing systems
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques including grinding and scarifying
- Experience using grinders, mixers, sprayers, pressure washers, and other construction equipment
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to read construction drawings is an asset
- Experience in building restoration is considered an asset
- Valid Working at Heights and WHMIS certifications are required
- Additional safety certifications are considered an asset
