Position Summary
This is a full-time Forklift Operator position offering a unique opportunity to be a part of our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating technical equipment, primarily forklifts, to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
Location: 3200 E Broadway, Vancouver, BC, V5M 1Z8
Responsibilities
- Operate propane forklift / electric forklift or slip sheet forklift.
- Pre-trip forklift daily.
- Fill in reports or report maintenance requests.
- Assist warehouse manager with daily inbound/outbound freight.
- Assist company drivers in loading or unloading freight.
- Load or unload freight into containers or trailers.
- Occasional swamping freight onto pallets.
- Manage cooler/freezer freight into storage units.
- Manage warehouse inventory/supplies.
- Maintaining detailed records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, attention to detail, and reading shipment instructions are a must.
- Prepare pallets for loading, shrink wrapping, labeling, and stacking pallets.
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against packing slips.
- Reporting damages to product or equipment to the forklift supervisor
- Prepare and ship orders.
- Other warehouse tasks as assigned such as inventory counts, cleaning, and picking.
Skills and Abilities
- Forklift certificate.
- Must be proactive and be able to work independently without direct supervision once trained and able to work full-time hours without issues.
- Works well under pressure with the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Punctuality and attention to detail in all tasks is a must
- Proven experience as a forklift operator with a clean safety record.
- Good organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
- Forklift License
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
