Position Summary
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the safe handling, storage, shipment, and receipt of finished HDPE pipe, raw materials, and other inventory. This role ensures that outgoing products are properly prepared for shipment and that incoming materials are received, verified, and stored accurately and efficiently.
The Shipper/Receiver plays a key role in supporting customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, accurate, and professional handling of all outbound and inbound materials, while maintaining a high standard of safety and communication with drivers and site visitors.
Job Responsibilities
The Shipper/Receiver loads and unloads pipe, coils, reels, and other materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring all materials are handled without damage.
They organize yard inventory, maintain clear access lanes, and ensure proper storage, identification, and accessibility of finished goods and raw materials.
The role includes preparing orders for shipment, verifying quantities and product specifications against production and shipping documentation, and ensuring accuracy of all outbound loads.
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for repackaging products as required to ensure safe handling, proper storage, and compliance with shipping requirements.
They assist with receiving raw materials, returned products, and other inventory, confirming quantities and reporting any discrepancies or damages.
The Shipper/Receiver maintains accurate inventory records and supports cycle counts and inventory control processes as required.
They ensure that all loading and unloading activities are performed safely, including proper load securing, to protect employees, drivers, and customers.
The Shipper/Receiver communicates professionally and respectfully with truck drivers, transportation providers, and customer representatives, ensuring clear communication and a positive representation of the company at all times.
They maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, ensuring a safe working environment and efficient traffic flow.
The Shipper/Receiver performs daily equipment checks and ensures forklifts and other machinery are operated safely and maintained in good working condition.
The role includes maintaining accurate logs for equipment inspections and maintenance activities, and reporting any defects, damages, or required repairs in a timely manner.
They follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel.
The Shipper/Receiver communicates any operational, safety, inventory, or equipment issues to supervisors in a timely manner to support efficient and continuous operations.
The Shipper/Receiver may be required to work overtime hours based on operational needs, including extended shifts, weekends, or peak production periods. All overtime work will be compensated in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation and company policies.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
