About the Role
We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Designer & Events Assistant to help strengthen our visual identity and support the planning of upcoming community events. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both design and community-based work and wants to contribute to meaningful youth-focused programming.
About Mayday Club
Mayday Club is a grassroots, youth-directed non-profit based out of Abbotsford. Its primary goal is to promote neurodiversity and inclusion in the community, by creating safe and accepting spaces where young people can be pushed to be the best they can be. Key Responsibilities
- Redesign and refine our existing brand identity to create a cohesive, professional look
- Rework and improve our current logo
- Design website content, promotional materials, flyers, and event branding
- Create designs for merchandise such as t-shirts
- Organize and standardize branding assets for future use
- Support planning and coordination of a community talent show
- Assist in organizing a silent disco event
- Help build partnerships with other organizations for collaborative events
- Contribute ideas to improve event experience and outreach
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graphic design or related program is considered a strong asset (but not required)
- Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
- Strong visual design skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and create cohesive designs
- Interest in community events, youth programming, or cultural initiatives
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
Working Conditions
- Hybrid - primarily remote with weekly check-ins
- Flexible scheduling within agreed hours
- No benefits included

Potential for part-time work after the contract ends.
