Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent cavities and periodontal disease
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Provide oral health education to patients about proper brushing, flossing, and overall dental care practices
- Assist in identifying oral health issues and communicate findings to the dentist for further evaluation
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Support the dental team with assisting duties when necessary, including sterilization of instruments and setup of treatment areas
- Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
Skills
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations
- Proficiency with Dentrix or other dental practice management software
- Experience in orthodontics, pediatrics, or general dentistry is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and cared for
- Previous experience in dental assisting is advantageous but not required
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to enhance communication with diverse patients
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
