BAIL SUPERVISOR – CASE MANAGEMENT
FULL TIME (35 hours/week) ($25.35 per hour)
To provide pre-trial verification and supervision services for accused persons in accordance with Ministry Guidelines, Service Agreement and Provincial Standards
Qualifications and Skills Required:
· Degree/diploma in a relevant field (i.e., social work, social service worker, law and justice, criminology, criminal justice)
· NVCI, CPR and First Aid, ASIST certification
· CPIC Clearance
· Knowledge of/experience working in the criminal justice system
· Excellent interviewing, counselling, case management skills
· Excellent report writing, recording, data collection and statistical management skills
· Superior analytical and decision-making skills
· Strong team member with ability to also work independently
· Advanced oral and written communication and Interpersonal skills
· Bilingualism considered an asset
Key Responsibilities:
· Complete the verification process and communicate outcome to appropriate stakeholders to assist in expediting court proceedings
· Review client needs, recommend and initiate referrals to assist with an appropriate plan of release, review recommended conditions for supervision with client and appropriate stakeholders
· Manage an assigned caseload, establish a reporting schedule and related duties as required.
· Monitor client compliance with bail conditions
· Participate in appropriate case management for client and determine appropriate intervention strategies base on client needs, skills, abilities and interests
· Provide supportive counselling, crisis intervention, outreach, court support and enhanced community services and support as required
· Initiate referrals and advocate on behalf of clients in areas such as, not limited to: housing, employment, education, mental health, addictions, income maintenance etc
· Work collaboratively with other service providers to ensure access to services for all clients
· Collect and maintain statistical data
