BLUBC Education Consulting is seeking an experienced and passionate AP Psychology Tutor to join our growing academic team as an Independent Contractor.

We are looking for an educator with a proven track record of teaching AP Psychology, helping students achieve outstanding AP exam results, and creating an engaging, supportive learning environment.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of AP Psychology teaching experience, possesses a thorough understanding of the College Board AP Psychology curriculum and examination requirements, and has consistently helped students achieve AP scores of 5.
Candidates who are also qualified to teach IB Psychology will be considered a strong asset.
We highly value teachers who have independently developed their own teaching resources, including lesson slides, worksheets, quizzes, homework assignments, review packages, and mock exams, and who are committed to delivering personalized instruction and measurable academic outcomes.
Our programs include both one-on-one tutoring and small-group instruction. Most classes are taught in person at our UBC campus in Vancouver, with occasional online teaching opportunities.

Please Note:
- Our primary teaching location is our UBC campus in Vancouver.
- Final-round interviews are conducted via Zoom.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach AP Psychology in one-on-one and small-group settings.
- Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons tailored to each student's learning needs and academic goals.
- Prepare students for the AP Psychology Exam through comprehensive content review, multiple-choice strategies, free-response question (FRQ) practice, and full-length mock exams.
- Develop and use high-quality teaching resources, including lesson slides, worksheets, quizzes, homework assignments, review packages, and mock examinations.
- Assign meaningful homework after each lesson, review students' work promptly, and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify students' learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Develop personalized learning plans based on each student's academic goals and performance.
- Monitor students' academic progress and provide regular written or verbal feedback to students, parents, and BLUBC Education Consultants.
- Maintain accurate lesson records and student progress reports.
- Collaborate professionally with the BLUBC academic team.
- Continuously improve teaching materials and instructional strategies to maximize student learning outcomes.
- Incorporate real-world psychological research, case studies, and classroom discussions to strengthen students' critical thinking and analytical skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of AP Psychology teaching experience.
- Demonstrated success preparing students for the AP Psychology Exam, with a strong record of students achieving AP scores of 5.
- Thorough understanding of the College Board AP Psychology curriculum and examination requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong ability to explain psychological concepts, theories, research methods, and applications clearly and effectively.
- Excellent organizational, instructional, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to motivate students with diverse learning styles and academic backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the BLUBC academic team.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and commitment to student success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching IB Psychology is considered a strong asset.
- Experience teaching introductory university Psychology courses is considered an asset.
- Experience teaching both one-on-one and small-group classes.
- Experience with online teaching platforms such as Zoom.
- Additional language(s), such as Mandarin, are considered an asset.
