Our busy cafe which is located next to the Saltspring Island ferry terminal in Crofton is seeking a barista to join our team! Barista/Kitchen/Customer Service Experience is a huge benefit but WILLING TO TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON. This person will be responsible for preparing and serving specialty coffee beverages, preparing breakfast sandwiches and baking, as well as providing great customer service and promoting our retail section. Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, good people skills and a willingness to learn new things and try your best. Growth opportunities are available for those who want it!
The position starts with minimum 2-3 shifts a week for training and will increase after. Flexible hours, but could be full time for the right person but a minimum of 24 hours per week.
Our business hours are 6am-6pm with an hour beforehand for open shifts and an hour after hours for closing shifts. Anytime availability is best, closing availability is required (most likely we will not be needing anyone for the early shifts.)
Benefits:
$19 to start, wage to increase after probation period ends.
Decent tips extra $5 - $20+ per hour depending on shift

Qualifications:
1 year+ barista, cooking or baking experience
1 year + customer service experience
Basic math/ cash handling skills
Reliable transit to work in Crofton
Competent english literacy
Can-do attitude
Food Safe Level 1 is required before your first shift(can be completed online after hiring decision)
