The Morning Baker is responsible for preparing the bakery for a successful day of production. Starting early each morning, this role completes the foundational baking and preparation that allows the bakery team to operate efficiently throughout the day. From baking core products and preparing ingredients to organizing workstations and ensuring quality standards are met, the Morning Baker plays a critical role in delivering the fresh, homemade products Pingle's Farm Market is known for.
Key ResponsibilitiesMorning Production
- Begin daily bakery production according to production schedules.
- Prepare and bake pies, pastries, muffins, loaves, cookies, and other bakery products.
- Ensure products are baked, cooled, and ready for finishing, packaging, or display.
- Maintain consistent product quality, appearance, and freshness.
Bakery Preparation
- Prepare doughs, fillings, batters, toppings, and other ingredients needed throughout the day.
- Scale, measure, and portion ingredients accurately.
- Ensure the bakery team has the products, ingredients, and supplies needed to maintain production.
- Set up workstations and organize equipment before the team arrives.
Team Support
- Set the bakery team up for success by ensuring production priorities are completed before opening.
- Communicate production updates, inventory needs, and priorities with the Bakery Manager.
- Assist team members throughout the day as production demands require.
Food Safety & Quality
- Follow all recipes, production standards, and portion specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Report equipment or quality concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial baking or food production experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to prioritize multiple production tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working early morning shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- Early morning shifts beginning between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Fast-paced production environment.
- Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and standing.
- Exposure to ovens, mixers, and commercial bakery equipment.

A successful Morning Baker arrives prepared, works efficiently and independently, maintains exceptional quality standards, and ensures the bakery team begins each day with everything they need to produce outstanding products for our guests. This role is the foundation of the bakery's daily success.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
