BARR LLP is currently looking for an experienced Commercial Paralegal to assist our Commerical Team. The ideal candidate must have experience in a law office setting handling a high volume of commercial and lending transactions. Candidates without experience will not be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Commercial real estate transactions – drafting and full process of legal and banking documents in the areas of purchase, sale and refinance from opening to closing file.
- Review purchase and sale contracts, financing documents leases and Land Titles documents
- Provide support for acquisitions and sales of: commercial properties, condominium developments, financing transactions and land development
- Carry out title and off-title due diligences searches on commercial properties and reviewing reports
- Commercial lending transactions
- Private equity lending transactions
- Drafting statutory right of ways, covenants, easements
- Dealing with municipalities and strata corporations
- Preparing contracts and closing documents
Skills & Requirements
- 1 + years of experience closing commercial real estate transactions
- CORES training an asset
- Commercial business lending background an asset
- APPRES certification an asset
- Knowledge or experience with LEAP an asset
- Proficient with computers and office software, including intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
- Highly organized and able to prioritize work
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Strong team player, demonstration of a positive work ethic
- Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
- Strong customer service and phone skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently; other language skills are an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
