As a multi-discipline, self-performing leader, we execute a significant portion of our work in-house. This provides strong exposure across all phases of execution—from planning and hazard assessment through turnaround execution and closeout. You’ll work within fast-paced, high-risk environments where leadership, vigilance, and proactive safety management are critical to success.
This role is based in Fort McMurray and supports a major turnaround project with rotational work schedules.

Essential Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation and execution of HSE programs during turnaround activities

Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to HSE advisors and field teams

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and client requirements

Conduct hazard assessments, field inspections, and safety audits

Monitor site activities to identify risks and ensure controls are in place

Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation

Promote and drive a strong safety culture through leadership and engagement

Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions

Collaborate with operations and project teams to integrate safety into planning and execution

Track and report safety performance metrics and trends

Support emergency response planning and preparedness

Champion continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance
Qualifications:
-
Extensive HSE experience within oil & gas or heavy industrial construction environments

Proven leadership experience in turnaround or shutdown projects

Strong knowledge of applicable safety legislation and industry best practices

Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions

Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills

Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization

Professional safety designation (e.g., CRSP, CSP, or equivalent) is an asset

Commitment to safety excellence and fostering a proactive safety culture
