As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Class 1 Construction Driver to join our operations team.
This position involves operating a variety of Class 1 vehicles and hauling equipment and construction materials to and from job sites throughout the Okanagan Valley, including urban, rural, and mountain environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally.
- Transport equipment, aggregates, and construction materials to and from project sites.
- Operate equipment such as tractor trailers, dump trucks, side dumps, end dumps, water trucks, lowbeds, vac trucks, and other commercial vehicles as required.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Perform routine equipment servicing and report mechanical issues.
- Follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Work independently and collaboratively with site crews and supervisors.
- Support daily construction operations in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of Class 1 commercial driving experience.
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence with air brake endorsement.
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Experience operating a variety of construction vehicles such as dump trucks, water trucks, tractor trailers, side dumps, end dumps, lowbeds, or similar heavy commercial equipment.
- Experience hauling heavy equipment or construction materials is considered an asset.
- Ability to operate safely in construction zones and varying terrain.
- Strong equipment care practices, including daily inspections and reporting maintenance concerns.
- Ability to work independently, follow direction, and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer and mobile app skills are considered an asset.
