Position Hiring: Carpenter / Game Props Builder
Requirements:
- Familiar with wood carpentry work (from wood selection, to cutting and building, all from scratch).
- Prior experience with sanding and painting would be an asset.
- Basic knowledge with 12V electronics wiring & connections (LED lightings, maglocks, linear actuators) would be a bonus.
- Able to manage projects that involve building simple wooden boxes to designing and finishing more complex game mechanisms with our tech team.
- Able to manage projects responsibly with a given budget.
- Able to cope with fresh and creative project ideas including sourcing unfamiliar parts and materials to meet project standards.
- Able to communicate effectively with team members regarding complex projects.
- Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge with 3D printing, laser cutting, laser engraving, CNC cutting would be a bonus.
- Prior experience in set visual design.
- Knowledge in special effects and props installation.
- Valid "Working At Heights" Certified
Common Tools and Tasks to be Performed:
- Assembling props and game components
- Installing and routing wires through walls and ceilings
- Mounting boxes, props, and structures to walls
- Building puzzle boxes and various themed structures
- Connecting, organizing, and labeling 12V wiring
- Installing 12V LED lighting systems
- Assisting with the assembly and installation of interactive game mechanisms
- Performing basic finishing, adjustments, and troubleshooting during installation
Please note: This is a project-based role required for approximately 3-4 weeks to support a new location build. The project is expected to begin in early to mid-June 2026, with exact dates to be provided closer to the start.
Candidates must be flexible to work during the assigned project schedule. Typical working hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, although alternative start and finish times may be considered.
There may be opportunities to continue on additional projects depending on performance and future needs.
