The Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Supplier Operations, the Purchasing Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate purchasing execution to support supply continuity, service, and cost objectives. This role is focused on transactional procurement, data accuracy, and day-to-day coordination with suppliers, plants, and logistics partners. The Analyst works closely with Planners and Buyers to maintain strong supply assurance and deliver on operational requirements. The Purchasing Analyst typically manages purchases agreements out over one to six months.

Create, release, and monitor purchase agreements to ensure on-time delivery and supply assurance.

Resolve discrepancies in quantities, pricing, or delivery dates by working with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions in ERP systems.

Act as daily contact for suppliers to confirm order details, track shipments, and resolve short-term issues.

Escalate persistent supply or quality concerns to the Manager, Supplier Operations.

Support supplier onboarding and documentation compliance.

Monitor inbound supply against demand plans, highlighting risks of shortages or excess.

Maintain and update master data (pricing, lead times, supplier details) to ensure accuracy.

Provide reporting on key performance metrics such as delivery performance, purchase price variance, and order cycle times.

Partner with Planners, Logistics, and Operations to ensure materials arrive on time and in full.

Support Strategic Sourcing Buyers/Managers with data and insights needed for sourcing decisions.

Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders about supply risks, order status, and corrective actions.

Identify process gaps in purchasing execution and propose improvements.

Contribute to fulfillment team initiatives to improve efficiency, service levels, and data integrity.

Accurately executes purchase agreements and maintains strong data integrity.

Ensures uninterrupted supply by proactively managing orders and supplier communication.

Builds foundational procurement and supply chain skills to prepare for progression into Buyer or Planner roles.

Contributes to the fulfillment team’s effectiveness by supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What you bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field (preferred) plus 1–4 or more years’ experience (internships acceptable) in procurement, supply chain, or a related function in a manufacturing environment

Strong Excel and ERP system skills; comfort with data analysis and reporting, e.g. dashboards, v-look-up

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Effective written communication skills to work across suppliers and internal teams.

Effective verbal and interpersonal skills for calls and participating in internal meetings with cross functional teams

Strong problem-solving mindset for independently handling standardized problems related to vendor services levels, and with less frequency, handling non-standard problems in coordination with other team members and manager

Willingness to learn and make recommendations of increased efficiency and accuracy

Ability to make most decisions independently; and support more complex decisions made by the manager

Ability to work closely with the operations team, as role is responsible for preventing and/or addressing errors related to damaged and/or short shipments which could impact plant operations and potentially impact customer orders

Will have days of high concentration analytical work without interruptions, and days of constant interruptions

Successful candidate would be able to handle constantly changing priorities; work through the pressure related to delays in orders, tight timelines, know how to expedite, with professional communications and creative solutions

Role works mostly out of an office environment only, rarely needing to go to DC or plant, unless a visual understanding of a problem is required.

The hiring range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000.
