Main Responsibilities:
Operating hand tools, power actuated tools as required to perform tasks.
Working in a team environment and providing the day to day carpentry work as required. This includes both framing and formwork.
Maintaining a high level of quality and timeliness in all tasks.
Participating in daily tool-box talks and weekly safety meetings.
Ensuring all necessary Personal Protective Equipment is used for all tasks.
Advising supervision/safety officers of unsafe conditions or acts.
Preparing layout including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work.
Ensuring work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
Ensuring tools and equipment are returned to tool boxes and storage.
Requirements:
Previous carpentry experience (3+ years minimum).
Strong work ethic.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Okay with working across the Lower Mainland.
Having your own reliable vehicle is considered an asset (but not essential).
Positive attitude towards safety.
Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions.
Punctual and reliable.
Willingness to learn. Willingness to coach and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices.
Ability to take initiative, Self motivated.
