Job Overview
We are currently hiring reliable and hardworking General Labourers for a meat processing facility in Etobicoke. This role involves general labour duties, handling and packing raw meat (primarily pork), and supporting production operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has previous meat processing experience, is physically fit, and is comfortable working in a cold environment with meat odours throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labour duties in a meat processing facility.
- Handle and pack raw meat (primarily pork).
- Perform heavy lifting and manual material handling throughout the shift.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Accurately punch in and punch out each shift.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in a meat processing facility is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of heavy lifting experience is preferred.
- Comfortable handling and packing raw meat.
- Able to work in a cold environment with meat odours throughout the shift.
- Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive lifting.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the shift.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
- No time off is permitted during the first 4 weeks of employment.
Shift Details
- Monday to Friday
- Shift: 7:00 AM Start (8–12 hour shifts)
Breaks:
- 20-minute morning break
- 30-minute lunch break
- 20-minute afternoon break
Pay: $17.60 per hour
