Prodigy Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced Industrial Paint Technician for a manufacturing client in Waterloo, ON. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong background in surface preparation and industrial or automotive painting, with a focus on producing high-quality finishes on fibreglass components.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, maintaining quality standards, and using a variety of painting and finishing equipment in a production environment.
This is a full time position, Monday to Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm
Wage is negotiable based on experience

Duties
- Prepare fibreglass components for painting by sanding, filling, smoothing, and cleaning surfaces.
- Apply primers, paints, and specialty coatings using spray equipment in a spray booth.
- Inspect completed work to ensure finish quality meets company standards.
- Repair surface imperfections prior to painting.
- Operate painting and finishing equipment, including spray guns, mixers, sanders, polishers, and other hand and power tools.
- Maintain paint equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Contribute to a productive team environment while meeting production deadlines.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and machining techniques.
- Familiarity with crane operation and forklift handling for material movement within the facility.
- Basic math skills for measurements, mixing paints, and quality assessments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficient workflow.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or automotive painting.
- Experience working with fibreglass products is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of paint preparation, application techniques, and finishing processes.
- Ability to safely operate painting and finishing equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive manual tasks and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
