Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Catering to lead our catering operations and enhance guest experiences. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and management of catering events, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency. This leadership role requires a strong background in hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive business growth through strategic marketing and upselling initiatives. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive catering strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Lead the planning and coordination of catering events, ensuring all client specifications are met with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams through effective negotiation and customer service.
- Oversee the entire catering process from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring seamless guest experiences.
- Manage budgets, pricing strategies, and cost controls to maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote catering services through targeted campaigns, social media, and community outreach.
- Train and supervise catering staff, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on excellence in hospitality.
- Monitor industry trends in hospitality, restaurant, and hotel sectors to innovate offerings and improve service delivery.
- Upsell additional services or packages to clients to enhance revenue opportunities during events.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards across all catering operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hospitality management, restaurant operations, or hotel food & beverage services.
- Strong background in marketing, guest services, and hospitality industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills essential for client interactions and team leadership.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling techniques and customer service excellence.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Budgeting experience coupled with analytical skills to manage costs effectively.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hotel settings is highly desirable.
