Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a 12 months contract opportunity for a Portfolio COE Lead (12 months contract). This role can is based out of our offices in Mississauga, ON; Stellarton, NS' Calgary, AB.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
- Provides an independent, portfolio-wide perspective on portfolio health, consistency, and effectiveness, surfacing risks early and promoting continuous improvement through identification of systemic issues and enhancement of portfolio practices.
- Define, evolve, and drive adoption of portfolio management standards and best practices across initiatives.
- Maintain an integrated portfolio roadmap view, synthesizing inputs across prioritization, capacity, dependencies, and reporting to proactively identify and resolve conflicts and enable trade-off decisions across the in-flight portfolio and facilitate cross-project alignment and continuous improvement forums.
- Provide an independent view of portfolio health, risks, and systemic issues, driving proactive actions to de-risk the in-flight portfolio and improve delivery predictability.
- Enable clear, consistent leadership reporting (eg: SCRUM), ensuring material risks, issues, and interdependencies are visible and escalated for leadership action.
- Coach and support teams to improve planning quality, consistency, and adoption of portfolio standards.
- Project / Program Teams: Drive standards adoption, planning quality, and visibility of risks, issues, and dependencies to support integrated portfolio insights.
- Technology Teams: Provide visibility to constraints, dependencies, and delivery impacts to enable informed trade-off decisions across the in-flight portfolio.
- Requires experience in enterprise portfolio or program management, with strong planning and dependency management expertise. Proven ability to drive consistency across teams, supported by strong analytical, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills along with proven experience operating effectively in complex, cross-functional environment.
