Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team for a temporary position with possibility for extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in long haul truck driving, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively.
This position will require the driver to be on the road during the week and home on the weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of safety regulations and the rules of the road.
- Load, unload, prepare and inspect cargo and delivery truck.
- Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
- Be able to lift up to 50+ pounds.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory, maintenance, and repairs completed.
- Ability to read and understand mapping and directions.
- Perform maintenance tasks as needed.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and inventory.
- Able to work independently and manage schedule to stay on time with client schedule.
- You must be able to handle unpredictable situations calmly and safely, as well as follow directions given by management.
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repair tasks.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Clean driving record (driver's abstract required).
- Valid Class 1 driver's license with Q-Endorsement considered an asset.
- Excellent communications and time management skills.
- Respectable and friendly to customers; having a good working relationship with vendors.
Compensation:
The Water Truck Driver is a temporary full-time position, location in Taber with travel from Hannah to Red Deer. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive wage range of $350/day -$450/day with benefits. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
