Storyteller
Full-time, four days a week in office, 325 Front Street West, Toronto
About us
Bulwark Impact is an impact-driven consultancy, and at heart we’re storytellers. We work with organizations across technology, healthcare, small business, and professional services to tell their story and build programs that make a real difference for their teams. Our work spans strategy, workforce development, change management, grant program design and writing, and program design and delivery.
This role puts storytelling at the core of everything we write for ourselves and our clients, from marketing to socials to strategic writing. It is not a copy-editing job.
About the role
This is our first dedicated Storyteller hire. You’ll create the Bulwark language: our tone of voice, our story, and the writing standards behind everything we produce, and you’ll give each program its own voice. You’ll report to our CEO, work closely with our design lead and technical staff, and be client facing. As we grow, you set the bar for writing across the team.
What you will own
- Brand voice. Bulwark’s tone and each program’s voice, from taglines and key messages to boilerplate, so every piece reads as one brand.
- Marketing writing. Social posts and stories, posters, flyers, banners, one-pagers, fact sheets, decks, and email.
- Web and program copy. Site pages, the sign-up portal, course descriptions, and the toolkits partners use to promote programs.
- Stories and thought leadership. Turning participant experiences into case studies and articles, plus outreach materials that build program awareness.
- Video and multimedia. Scripts, hooks, and briefs for short-form video, working with our agency, design, and production partners.
- Proposals. A light hand in funding applications and pitch decks, sharpening the story and the language.
What you bring
- A portfolio that shows range: the discipline to write simply and the instinct to tell a good story.
- Hunger and curiosity, which we value more than years of experience.
- Comfort working with partners, collaborating across teams, and juggling moving deadlines.
- A plus, not a requirement: fluency with AI tools for research. The writing itself is your core strength.
