Kit Steel Inc. is looking for a hardworking and reliable General Labourer / Rebar Machine Operator to join our rebar fabrication team in Welland.
This position is intended for our weekend shift. The successful candidate will first be trained on our weekday shift, Monday to Thursday, and if they are a good fit, will transition to the weekend shift, Friday to Sunday.
We cut, bend, and fabricate reinforcing steel for construction projects across Ontario. The right candidate will have experience in a shop, manufacturing, construction, or steel-related environment. Previous rebar shop experience is strongly preferred.
Experience running a stirrup bender that uses coil is considered a major asset.

Responsibilities
- Operate or assist with rebar fabrication machinery, including benders, shearline equipment, and coil-fed stirrup benders
- Cut, bend, sort, bundle, tag, and stage rebar for production and shipping
- Tie rebar bundles together with wire for shipment
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment
- Safely move and organize material throughout the shop and yard
- Assist with trailer staging and general yard duties as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Perform general labour duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a rebar shop is strongly preferred
- Experience operating a coil-fed stirrup bender is a major asset
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, steel fabrication, or a similar shop environment is an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment
- Ability to do physical work and some heavy lifting
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic math skills are an asset
- Ability to work safely and stay aware of your surroundings
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Willingness to train on the weekday shift before moving to weekends
- Overtime may be required
