Red Road Recovery is one of British Columbia's fastest growing Recovery Organizations. Our passionate Executive Team has created a unique recovery experience, combining 12 step recovery with Indigenous Land Based Healing.
Red Road Recovery's most recent Williams Lake location, Red Road River, is looking to add valuable members to our team. As a support worker you will work closely with the residents of our Assisted Living Recovery Residence.
***This unique opportunity will offer away training at one of our other Centres in B.C for 1-2 months. You will be offered accommodation, travel and a per diem while away training.***
Purpose: The Clinical Support Staff at Red Road Recovery is responsible for providing support and assistance to residents and helping them achieve their recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and practical support to residents: This includes listening to residents, providing guidance and advice, and helping them to cope with the challenges of recovery.
- Monitor and document resident progress: This includes observing residents, taking notes, and keeping accurate progress records.
- Provide crisis intervention: This includes being available to residents and providing support and assistance as needed.
- Work as a team: This includes collaborating with other staff members, including therapists and counsellors, to provide the best possible care for residents.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and training: This includes regular and ongoing training to improve professional development and knowledge.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Assisting residents in daily life skills like keeping clean, organizing workspace and rooms, and personal hygiene
- Taking residents safely to and from appointment, activities, and outings
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Diploma in Addictions and Community Support or related
- Personal or Professional experience with the 12 Steps
- Experience in a similar role in a Supportive Recovery Residence or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Understanding and knowledge of addiction and recovery.
- Criminal Record Check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
- Must complete at least 20 hours duration in one or more of the following subjects:
i) Counselling
ii) Crisis Intervention and Conflict Resolution
iii) Psychosocial Intervention for Substance Use Disorders
iv) Trauma-Informed Practice
**Shifts will be 4 on and 4 off- 12 hours- Staff Housing on site while on shift**
**Shift Work will be required**
**Transportation to and from the Centre at a central point in Williams Lake**
