Position Overview
Skills Ontario is seeking Case Managers to support participants in the Trades Up / Move Up initiative by providing wraparound support and job retention services.
This role focuses on working closely with participants, particularly from underrepresented communities, throughout a three-month period to ensure successful employment outcomes and sustained retention in the skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to 20–40 program participants at a time, including ongoing 1:1 check-ins over three months
- Develop and implement customized wraparound support plans
- Support participants in overcoming employment barriers and maintaining job retention
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and external stakeholders
- Assist with delivery of training programs and workshops
- Travel within the region and occasionally across Ontario (including overnight travel up to one week)
- Track participant progress and ensure program targets are met or exceeded
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager
- Contribute to program evaluation, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Social Work or a related field (preferred)
- Experience in participant support, case management, or employment services
- Knowledge of skilled trades and technology careers is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple participants simultaneously
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel as required
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Fluency in English (oral and written); French is an asset
