Our Rail Facility Assets Office is seeking a Millwright to ensure GO Transit facilities, plant equipment and systems are operated and maintained in a safe and effective manner.
Start Rate (Non-negotiable): $43.43
What will I be doing?
Operates repairs and maintains equipment, systems, and structures.
Troubleshoots minor electrical issues.
Prepares records for the Supervisor relative inspections, work accomplished, etc.
Operates and maintains assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools safely.
Monitors the operation of on-site contractors.
Identifies parts, components and materials required for repairs.
Provides guidance to Plant Mechanics and Plant Serviceperson.
Carries out emergency measures.
Purchases parts, components, and materials relative to facility requirements.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Must have an Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certification.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience involving the operation and specialized maintenance of large facilities and of the associated equipment supporting Rail repair.
Experience in gas cutting, soldering, brazing, gas and arc welding, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to operate forklift, personnel lifts (scissor or telescopic), and/or other similar equipment.
Have a valid Ontario Class "G” Driver’s license and must meet corporate standard for a good driving record.
Ability to obtain GO Transit Equipment Operator’s Permit.
Have a working knowledge of pertinent environmental regulations, codes and health and safety regulations.
Successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy.
Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid Certification.
