General Description
The position involves weighing, cleaning, separating samples, analyzing samples, preparing chemical and standard preparations, and use of the LIMS system for managing logs and testing.
Education Required: High School Diploma
Shifts: Full-Time. Afternoon shift (3:00pm-11:00pm).
Requirements:

- Good manual dexterity and computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Demonstrate willingness to put in the needed effort to meet company goals of improved TAT and quality.
- Work safely and conscientiously consistent with Actlabs policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
May include some or all of the following; or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the XRF Process Owner
- Weigh flux and LOI samples for fusion.
- Sample fusion on XRF fluxers.
- Daily balance checks.
- Wash vials, clean and polish XRF crucibles and molds.
- Weigh samples and wax for pressed pellet samples.
- Use briquette press to produce pressed pellets for analysis.
- Weigh sample for Davis Tube separation and weigh resulting fractions.
- Process David Tube separation using magnetic separators.
- Prepare sample cells and analyze samples using a Satmagan instrument.
- General chemical and standard preparations.
- Some instrumental analysis which includes preparing the instrument and putting samples on a run.
- Maintenance of equipment in working order and required logs, files, etc. for area of testing.
- Use of LIMS and Support Site.
- Ensure turn-around-time meets clients and President’s requirements –work overtime if required.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping.
