360 SURVEYS
Seeking qualified Surveyors IMMEDIATELY.
The candidate will possess strong communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Surveyors are responsible for ensuring the project meets deadlines, targets and must also be familiar with Trimble survey equipment.
The job location is Valentine Lake Gold Mine in Central Newfoundland and the project includes upgrading the main access road to the site and building sediment ponds , concrete and anchor bolts and other various projects as they come up throughout the year.
Note: Applicants will be staying at the camp onsite or in Millertown depending on where they are needed.
Schedule will be 14 and 7 or 14 and 14 shift.
Must live in Newfoundland.
THIS IS NOT A FLY IN FLY OUT POSITION.
Duties:
- Record and maintain daily field notes of survey activities.
- Perform various survey tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and maintain survey equipment & vehicles. Keep things clean, tidy and organized.
- Effectively communicate with Managers/Supervisors.
- Capable of walking, kneeling, bending repeatedly and be in good physical health. There will be regular topos and layout to be completed.
- Complete tasks safely and be mindful of site specific safety rules.
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions (snow, rain, hot, cold).
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in a construction survey environment.
- Completed civil engineering/geomatics diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent GPS skills, preferably Trimble.
- Trimble Total Station experience needed.
- Drone Experience an asset.
- Machine Control experience an asset.
- Slope staking experience an asset.
- Experience with construction layout, slope staking, checks, and asbuilts using standard survey practices.
- Accurately record measurements and other data, preparing field notes, quality control for survey work, and compiling and computing survey data.
- Experience importing/exporting survey data.
- Experience using csv, dxf, and ttm files for layout.
- Strong communication as well as critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Able to read and comprehend engineering plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel an asset.
- AutoCad experience would be considered an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
