As part of the Occupational Health Nurse team, the OHN delivers occupational health services to promote the health, safety and well-being of the individual employees, the aggregate employee population and the workplace organization.
Duties:

Administering the Attendance Support Program.

Providing managers with tools and advice based on your review of all employee attendance reports.

Analyze, and report on, trends and statistical data, monitor and evaluate program results.
- Maintain efficient data collection systems, enabling the tracking and reporting of the attendance management experience.

Review and ensure all pre-placement requirements for new staff, students and volunteers have been met.

Provision of vaccination updates to staff, volunteers, students and physicians.
-
Giving Influenza & TB vaccinations to staff, volunteers, students and physicians at The Royal.

Assisting with Outbreak management on patient units.
-
Assist in new hire evaluations.
-
Follow up on Employee Incident Reports.

File Form 7 to the WSIB.
-
Book RTW meetings or modified work meetings and accommodation in the workplace.

Assist in health promotion and healthy workplace initiatives.
- Member of the Healthy Workplace Committee.

Administering first aid for non-occupational and occupational injuries/illnesses.
-
Assist in escorting injured/ suddenly ill employees by taxi, to advanced level health care provider i.e. emergency department.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Director, Occupation Health & Safety and Emergency Management Systems and the Senior Occupational Health Nurse.

Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.

Ensures a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Discrimination and Harassment-Free Workplace policy.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Diploma as a Registered Practical Nurse.

Registration and member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Occupational Health Nursing Certificate preferred.
-
One year of recent relevant experience obtained from working within Occupation Health and Safety required (Hospital setting preferred).

Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.

Knowledge of occupational health issues, Worker’s Compensation regulations, workplace health & safety management, and case management is an asset.

Experience or knowledge in infection control an asset.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills in Word, Excel, Parklane and general spreadsheets.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide client services.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (French /English) is preferred.
Salary Range:
$34.33 to $35.97 per hour
