Job Summary
The Banquet Set-up position is essential for ensuring that events run smoothly and guests have a memorable experience. This role involves preparing banquet spaces for various events, including weddings, corporate meetings, and social gatherings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and customer service, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and service.
Responsibilities
- Set up tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary equipment according to event specifications.
- Ensure that all banquet areas are clean, organized, and ready for guest arrival.
- Assist in the arrangement of food service stations and beverage areas as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages during events.
- Provide excellent guest services by being attentive to guests' needs during events.
- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Respond promptly to any guest inquiries or requests during events to enhance their experience.
- Break down banquet setups after events and assist with cleaning the area.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Experience in food service or handling within the hospitality or restaurant industry is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively during events.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and helping team members as needed.
- Previous experience in hotel or banquet settings is a plus but not required.
