Media Asset Technician (1 Year Contract)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Media Asset Technician to join our Media Services department in Toronto. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in highly organized workflows, enjoys working behind the scenes with digital media assets, and takes pride in maintaining accuracy and consistency across large media libraries.
This role will report to the Manager, Media Services and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.
The anticipated salary for this role is $48,000 per year, with final compensation determined by experience and qualifications.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Media cataloging and organization
- Video and audio file analysis
- Quality assurance
- Metadata entry
- Sending/retrieving digital assets
- LTO archive/retrieval
- Tape capture on a per-request basis
- Other post-production-related duties as required
Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma, preferably in Broadcast Media or Film Production
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a TV/Film distribution or post-production environment
- Strong knowledge of historical and current media formats, aspect ratios, and broadcast standards, including videotapes and digital video files
- Resourceful and quick learner, capable of managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with quality control standards and broadcast technical specifications
- Team-oriented, with the ability to take ownership of assigned duties and tasks
- An appreciation for structured workflows, media organization, and archival best practices
- Experience within a physical media library environment is an asset
- Airtable knowledge is an asset
