Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Cashier to provide excellent service and ensure a smooth shopping experience. The ideal candidate is accurate, flexible, detail-oriented, and demonstrates strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence (EQ), a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment, and willing to work help other department when need.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using POS system
- Handle cash management including opening/closing float, balancing till
- Provide excellent customer service, greet customers, answer inquiries, and resolve issues professionally
- Maintain checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Scan and verify items/prices, ensure correct promotions, discounts, and tax application
- Assist with returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with store policies
- Support merchandising tasks such as restocking shelves, facing products, and checking expiry dates
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment, remain calm and positive during peak hours
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting other departments as needed (e.g., grocery, produce)
Skills
- Proficiency in operating POS systems and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
- Bilingual (English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese) abilities are a plus for enhancing customer interactions.
