Front Desk Agent
Duties:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Check-in and check-out guests efficiently and accurately
- Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location. Answer phones in a prompt and provide information to callers or direct them to the appropriate department
- Assist guests with inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring their needs are met promptly
- Handle cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to posting all charges, completing cashier and other reports, preparing deposit, and counting/securing assigned bank
- Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up - Provide exceptional customer service to ensure guest satisfaction
- Collaborate with other hotel staff to ensure smooth operations
- Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- Book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups that are requested either by phone or from within the hotel; process cancellations, revisions, and information updates on changes
- Up-sell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue.
Experience:
- Previous experience working at the front desk of a hotel or similar establishment is a strong asset
- Familiarity with phone systems and standard office equipment
- Must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of hospitality industry practices and procedures is a plus
- Bilingual/multilingual skills are an asset
