The Mechanical Estimator is primarily responsible for accurately estimating new and current construction projects in a timely manner and is expected to utilize traditional and innovative methods in preparing estimates. The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for taking ownership and delivering the estimate of one or more bid tenders at a time. Project sizes, contract terms and scopes will vary between lump sum, unit rate and hourly for both mechanical and civil construction scopes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares and coordinates the preparation of proposals and full cost estimates.
- In preparation of full cost estimates, the Mechanical Estimator will interpret documentation, specifications and design drawings to define scope/contents of the estimates.
- One of the primary responsibilities of the Mechanical Estimator is to review and send out bid packages to the required sub-contractors.
- Assists with negotiations, contract clarifications, consultants, clients, vendors and subcontractors
- In preparation for close out estimate, the Mechanical Estimator is accountable for analyzing each section for scope, pricing and clarifications. Operational involvement and input will be taking into consideration for assigning productivity and duration's.
- Responsible for turning over the project estimate to the execution team once the bid is completed, ensuring complete transparency and understanding of the scope.
- Accountable for effectively representing the company in relations with clients, regulatory agencies, site personnel and staff.
- Support the project sites for estimating and estimate clarification
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years experience in the construction industry
- Experience with with both mechanical and civil construction. Preferably in the Oil and Gas sector
- Strong communication skills – oral and written
- Self motivated
- Ability to work accurately under pressure
- Ability to work with others as a team
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience using estimating and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Projects
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
