Restaurant Manager - Mother Tongue Asian Bistro
Turner Hospitality Group
Location: Mother Tongue Asian Bistro, The Blue Mountains, ON
Employment Type: Full-time, Salaried, Year-Round
Compensation: $65,000 – $80,000 per year
Reports to: Multi-Unit GM & VP Operations North
Lead One of Ontario’s Most Ambitious Independent Restaurant Groups
Turner Hospitality Group owns and operates nine distinctive restaurant concepts across the Georgian Bay region and Toronto. While each concept has its own personality, they all share one philosophy: exceptional hospitality begins with exceptional leadership.
Mother Tongue is a Filipino and Asian concept featuring 135 interior seats, a 104-seat patio, and up to 400 guests on our busiest nights.
We believe great restaurants are built through disciplined execution. Our kitchens cook from written specifications, not memory. Our beverage program follows detailed standards, with measured pours, house-made ingredients, and a carefully curated wine program. Every detail matters because every guest notices.
We’re looking for a Restaurant Manager who shares that mindset.
This is more than a restaurant management position. As Turner Hospitality Group continues to grow, we are developing today’s Restaurant Managers into tomorrow’s General Managers, Multi-Unit Leaders, and senior operational executives.
What You’ll Own
You’ll have meaningful responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing the Front of House team.
- Hiring, onboarding, scheduling and performance management.
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences through visible floor leadership.
- Managing labour, beverage cost, waste, discounts, and controllable operating expenses against budget.
- Working closely with the Chef on Duty to deliver a seamless guest experience from kitchen to dining room.
- Maintaining all health, safety, AGCO and employment standards.
- Acting as the certified Manager on Duty with the authority to resolve guest concerns and operational issues while following our established escalation framework when required.
How You’ll Lead
This is a floor leadership role.
You’ll spend the majority of your shift where your guests and team need you most—not behind a desk.
On quieter day-parts you’ll often lead from the host stand, welcoming guests, managing the pace of seating, and setting the tone for service.
As business builds, you’ll move throughout the restaurant wherever your leadership creates the greatest impact, supporting the host stand, assisting service flow, coordinating with the kitchen, expediting when required, coaching your team in real time, and ensuring every guest receives exceptional hospitality.
The best Restaurant Managers don’t stay in one place. They anticipate where they’ll be needed next and lead confidently from the floor throughout the entire service.
