As part of the broader People, Culture & Experience (PCeX) team, the Talent Acquisition team is a collaborative and high-performing group focused on delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience. The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is responsible for full-cycle recruitment, contract management, and supporting workforce planning across a designated portfolio. Working in a multi-union healthcare environment, this role partners closely with hiring managers to support sourcing and selection activities. The TAS also works in partnership with their assigned HR Business Partner (HRBP) to align recruitment strategies with workforce planning and broader organizational priorities.
This role also contributes to People, Culture & Experience initiatives including recruitment reporting, metrics, orientation facilitation, and participation in team projects. This is a 12 month replacement contract position.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage full-cycle recruitment from intake to offer, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and organizational policies
- Develop and execute sourcing and recruitment strategies aligned with workforce planning and portfolio needs
- Partner with assigned HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and leaders to identify current and future staffing needs
- Develop talent pipelines using job boards, LinkedIn, campus recruitment, and other sourcing strategies
- Prepare and analyze recruitment reports and metrics to support data-driven decision-making
- Facilitate and support onboarding and orientation activities to ensure a positive new hire experience
- Represent Southlake Health’s employer brand at career fairs and external recruitment events
- Participate in People, Culture & Experience projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, privacy requirements, and internal recruitment processes
What You’ll Need
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in full-cycle recruitment in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in healthcare or unionized environments strongly preferred
- Experience with ATS systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and collective agreements
- Experience with workforce planning, sourcing strategies, and recruitment metrics
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent organization and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines with flexibility.
- Client-centric approach to support candidates, hiring managers, and team members, creating a positive experience throughout the full recruitment process.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex environment
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required
